We encourage serious, advanced undergraduate researchers to submit their research to the Posters on the Hill event. Applications are now open and will close on Wed. Nov. 1, 2017. This is very competitive and only 1 student from WVU (or from WV) is selected to represent our state at this event. The selected participant travels to and presents his/her research in Washington, D.C. to federal legislators and staff and to representatives from various governmental funding agencies. If you are selected, The Office of UG Research and the Honors College will support and provide all funding (and make most travel arrangements). Also, we work with our federal governmental relations folks in Washington, D.C. to schedule meetings for the presenter with our WV Federal Legislators. It is a great opportunity and includes training on how to talk to Legislators about research. More information can be found at: http://www.cur.org/conferences_and_events/student_events/posters_on_the_hill/. WVU holds Institutional Membership with CUR and so WVU students are eligible to submit (this info is required on the application). See stories on our 2017 and 2016 Posters on the Hill presenters. If you submit an application for Posters on the Hill, please let us (WVU Office of Undergraduate Research) know.
