Cooper Coursey

Cooper Coursey, undergraduate assistant

Cooper Coursey is a senior biology student with minors in law and legal studies in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University (WVU). He is from Pennsylvania, where he grew up around the beaches of Lake Erie. His work at WVU includes researching potential biocontrol strategies against soil dwelling plant-parasitic nematodes that cause an estimated $80 billion and $118 billion in damages each year globally. Cooper marched in the "Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band" for four seasons, and was a section leader when they performed in Manhattan for the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Within UGR, Cooper is a teaching assistant for the Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
