Ella Miller

Ella Miller is a doctoral student in the Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology program and a master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at West Virginia University (WVU). Originally from Vermont, she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. Before attending WVU, Ella worked as a research assistant at Yale University School of Medicine for two years. 

At WVU, her work involves mental health and performance consulting, teaching, research, and coursework. Ella’s research interests include mindfulness, the coach–athlete relationship, and resiliency in athletic performance, with a particular focus in collegiate athletic environments. She is expected to graduate in May 2030.

Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Ella enjoys hiking, swimming, weightlifting, traveling, baking, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her two cats
