About Chris:
Ambitious senior Civil Engineering student, Chris Anderson, has always called West Virginia his home. With aims of attending graduate school for Environmental Engineering, Chris sought out Dr. Emily Garner’s lab to expand his experiences.
While working full-time as a part of the SURE program, Chris’ research assessed the microbial community in drinking water distribution systems to see what physical, chemical, and biological factors affect the ecosystem.
He is continuing his work through the semester for class credit with hopes to submit a scientific journal article for peer review by the end of this semester. Outside of the classroom Chris has immersed himself in Engineering related clubs including Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi.
For fun he has worked with the Hearts of Gold program to become certified as a handler to train service dogs for those in need.
