Meet Kelcie:

“I found so much more value in what I’m learning in the classroom, connecting it to what I do in the lab. It’s allowed me to look at everything I do from a different perspective.”

Hometown: Morgantown, WV

Student Organization Involvement: I am a part of the American Society for Microbiology and WVU Figure Skating.

Interest and Hobbies: I love to bake and cook.

Research Area: Kelcie's research is focused in genetics and biochemistry. Specifically this involves the study of ergot alkaloids which are produced by fungi and can help treat Alzheimer’s and migraines. Along with the potential treatments ergot alkaloid may serve, she has a kenn interest in their pharmaceutical implications.
