About the 2020 Spring Symposium

Every spring the Office of Undergraduate Research hosts an annual showcase to celebrate the research and creative scholarship of undergraduate students across WVU. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our office was forced to re-envision our 4th Annual Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium from the ground up.

We are very proud of the accomplishments of our students throughout the academic year, so we saw it as vital and necessary to move forward with a virtual platform. In turn, this year the Undergraduate Spring Symposium is launching Thursday, April 16th at noon and will be interactive through Thursday, April 30th, 2020.

To all guests visiting our virtual symposium, our hope is that you explore the presentations students have put together and a develop a deeper understanding of topics that most readily pique your interests.

To all students visiting our virtual symposium, our hope is that you benefit from knowing the breadth of research and creative scholarship your peers are partaking in. You, too, can develop a rewarding relationship with a faculty mentor and pursue experiential learning opportunities like those featured in this symposium.

Research is core to the identity of the WVU institution, the students that choose to attend WVU, and state it serves in through its land-grant initiative. Since the Office of Undergraduate Research was established in 2015, we have played a part in this mission to enhance academic excellence through undergraduate research and creative endeavors. Our goal is to connect undergraduate students who have strong and committed interests in research and creative endeavors to faculty members, programs, and research-related opportunities that are aligned with their interests. We hope you find these resources throughout this website.

Please enjoy the 4th Annual Undergraduate Spring Symposium, and remember to sign our guestbook!
