WVU Extension Service's Looking for STEM Ambassadors

WVU Extension Service's Looking for STEM Ambassadors

WVU Extension is currently hiring undergraduate and graduate STEM majors to serve as WVU Stem Ambassadors. STEM Ambassadors act as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) instructors during the summer at Jackson's Mill 4-H camp and through virtual STEM clubs and activities. Given training and materials, ambassadors will deliver pre-arranged STEM curricula to youth at Jackson’s Mill 4-H Camp on alternating 2-week intervals and lead virtual STEM clubs and activities during the time frame of May 24, 2021, to August 15, 2021.

Other assignments may include the West Virginia State Fair located in Lewisburg, WV, as well as the assembly and distribution of STEM kits and materials. Room and board are provided while on assignment at Jackson’s Mill. This is a great opportunity for students to earn some extra money this summer, improve their teaching and leadership skills, and camp at historic WVU Jackson's Mill, all while spreading their enthusiasm for science.

More details and a direct link to the online application and position announcement are available here. Priority is given to applications received by April 5, 2021, but will be taken until all positions are filled.
