The University of Pittsburgh’s PSTP is a 5-year medical school program that adds a year of basic or translational research to the regular Pitt Med experience.

U. Cincinnati Biomedical Research Day

The University of Cincinnati Office of Graduate Education is hosting a virtual Biomedical Research Day on January 25, 2021 from 6-7:30 pm. All STEM undergrads are invited to this special program to learn more about the University of Cincinnati's research programming including, summer research opportunities ( SURF), PostBac ( PREP) program, Doctoral and Masters degree programs.

2021 Energy & Water Scholars Program

As part of the National Science Foundation EPSCOR project “ Improving Water Management, Treatment, and Recovery in Oil and Gas Production”,  the WV Water Research Institute and the Davis College Energy Land Management program is providing funding to sponsor up to five undergraduate research projects to study the relation between energy production (and associated infrastructure) and water resources.  Each project will receive the following funds:  $1,000 to for faculty mentor, $3,500 for undergraduate student wages, and $1,000 for project.  The final deliverable will culminate with a virtual presentation and associated poster presentation of research findings by the group.  

These projects are meant to be interdisciplinary, and not limited by faculty specialty.  Energy & water research associated with the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors would be relevant.  As would research in other forms of energy production that share commonalities with petroleum production.  All ideas are encouraged to be brought forth by students or faculty for consideration.  Some examples of research may be:

CUR Posters on the Hill - Abstracts Due (Jan 22, 2021)!

Posters on the Hill 2021: Abstract Deadline - Jan 22, 2021! CUR is pleased to announce submissions are now open for Posters on the Hill (POH) 2021! POH 2021 will take place virtually (April 27-28, 2021) but will include the critical elements of a traditional POH signature event, including opportunities to virtually meet with members of Congress, resources on advocacy for undergraduate research, and a virtual poster showcase.

ORISE Virtual Career Fair

ORISE to host Virtual Career Fair for college students, recent graduates, postdocs, and faculty in STEM research, policy, and technical areas     

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET, the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is hosting a virtual career fair to highlight the variety of paid internships, fellowships and research opportunities available within our Research Participation Programs.
