Isaac McCarthy is a senior music major and current Undergraduate Research Teaching Assistant for the Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP). Isaac presented “Music for a Modern Appalachia” at the 2024 Zinnstarter Pitch Competition, which focused on launching a traditional arts education business. Isaac plans to become a music teacher to serve the Appalachian Region in the way that it seriously needs. The first step in this process is to create an album to showcase his skillset and use for future advertising. As a chosen winner of the 2024 Zinnstarter Award he will use the $1,500.00 to record his album to help advertise his project.

You can view his award-winning pitch below.
