The Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) - Guide Summer Program helps students prepare for health professions school. The program will take place May 15-20, 2022 on the WVU Health Sciences Campus. The program is open to sophomore, junior, and senior students seeking admission to a school or program of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy. During the week-long event, students will receive help with the application process, personal statements, interview skills, and research and presentation skills. Additionally, students will receive guidance and advice from health professional school deans. Students will also receive a free, self-paced Kaplan Prep Course.
This program is free and open to all WV in-state students who are under-represented such as minority, low income, first generation, or rural. Accepted students will receive a $92/day stipend. Dorm rooms will be provided for off-campus students as needed.
The HCOP-Guide Summer Program is an intimate experience with room for only 10 qualifying students.
