2022 SES Student Scholarship


The Society for Standards Professionals established in 2017 a Scholarship Program to support students who study standards in their academic curriculum. We know that each new generation of students holds the potential for helping us achieve our mission to increase awareness and the use of standards. 

Students may be interested in applying for the 2022 SES Student Scholarship. This award is for up to $1,000 for students who study standards in their undergraduate or graduate programs. Applications for the 2022 SES Student Scholarship are open through April 24th, 2022.

Eligibility

The SES welcomes applications from students who:

  • Are full-time undergraduate or graduate students in any academic discipline;
  • Are enrolled in University or College;
  • Use Standards in their academic curriculum. 

Selection Criteria

The Scholarship Committee uses the following criteria in choosing a winner: 

  •  Academic achievement;
  •  Leadership Qualities;
  •  Concern for others/volunteerism;
  •  Demonstrate use of Standards in academic curriculum;
  •  Demonstrate the importance of standards in future career goals. 

Application Requirements

  1. The applicant must complete an application in English addressing the qualifications noted above and stating his or her qualifications and achievements in each of these areas.
  2. Applicants must submit a copy of his or her most recent academic transcript in English.
  3. Applicants must submit with two (2) letters of recommendation from a faculty member or someone involved in their academic experience in English. 
  4. The application including qualifications and achievements, letter of recommendation and transcript must reach SES Scholarship Committee by April 24, 2022 at 11:59 PM PDT.
  5. Scholarship awards will be announced in the summer of 2022 and distribution of funds will be made at the SES Annual Conference in August.

Terms and Conditions

SES reserves the right to render a final determination on eligibility for scholarship. The student scholarship is subject to change at any time. Finalists chosen for consideration must agree to be interviewed by the selection committee.

We invite individual and organizations to support the SES Scholarship Program. Sponsors will be highlighted in print and online advertising for the scholarship program and receive visibility during the SES Annual Conference awards ceremony.
