University of Missouri Summer Research Programs

The University of Missouri is hosting Summer Undergraduate Research Programs.

Students live in on-campus air-conditioned housing (double rooms), and receive a meal plan paid by the program. Many programs provide one credit hour of research, travel to and from Columbia, and stipends range from $3,400 – $5,400.

SURE Faculty Mentors Needed — Applications Due February

Faculty are encouraged to apply to mentor undergraduates in scholarly activity via the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program and inform their undergraduates that SURE applications are now open. The deadline to submit a faculty application is February 17

SURE is a paid undergraduate research experience for students interested in graduate school and research/creative work within their discipline or a related discipline. 2023 SURE program dates are May 30-July 28.

2023 DOE Scholars Program – Accepting Applications

The DOE Scholars Program introduces students and recent college graduates to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) mission and operations. 

The DOE Scholars Program is designed to attract talented undergraduate and graduate students, and recent graduates to research, technical and professional opportunities within U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and organizations that support the DOE mission.

[AGA] Summer Undergraduate Research Funding Opportunities Open for Application

The American Gastroenterological Association has two undergraduate research programs..

Eight summer undergraduate research fellowship (SURF) awards are open for application through December 14, 2022. The AGA-Aman Armaan Ahmed Family SURF offers students from underrepresented backgrounds an opportunity to conduct 10-weeks of mentored digestive disease research. Each award provides a $5,400 stipend, reimbursements for meals and travel, and funds for supplies to the mentor’s lab.

NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Bias Detection Challenge

Blue Clarity has launched a challenge series called #Expeditionhacks, challenging U.S. innovators to develop a bias detection tool that can detect, mitigate and monitor harmful bias in AI/ML models used in clinical decision-making and anticipate making these solutions available as open source early next year.

Blue Clarity is working with  NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) on this challenge and we  invite tech and healthcare industries, academia, non-profits, and government to join us in NIH’s endeavors to increase equity and inclusion in AI in healthcare.

Abstract Submission Deadline Extended: 2023 Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol

Undergraduate student researchers are encouraged to submit abstracts to present at the 19th Annual West Virginia Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol (URDC), which will be held Friday, February 10, 2023. URDC introduces state legislators to undergraduate research and creative activities across the state. This event promotes WVU's land grant mission of serving West Virginians and state funding for higher education and research activities. 

The extended deadline to submit an abstract is now Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

UW-Madison Biological Interactions Summer Research Program App is Open

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Biological Interactions Summer Research Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2023! We are looking for undergraduate students who are interested in an immersive, 10-week faculty-led research experience to prepare for their graduate education and research career. Students will engage in research to explore how genes and the environment influence phenotype. We have a wide array of projects across scales of research from molecular to ecological work.

2023 Program Dates: May 30 – August 5, 2023
