GET PAID TO TEACH KIDS ABOUT SCIENCE
The West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team (SPOT) is a statewide program operated out of the Green Bank Observatory that recruits and trains undergraduate ambassadors to bring presentations about current West Virginia science to K-12 classrooms (and get PAID).
To learn more, WVU students can also attend a WVU SPOT Club Informational sessions on September 6th at 6:30pm in the Mountainlair Cathedral Room (with free pizza!) and stay in touch through WVU ENGAGE.
To formally join the program, students must apply at www.wvspot.org (on the Become An Ambassador page), with a letter of recommendation, by September 7th. Accepted applicants will be invited to the WV SPOT statewide ambassador training at the Green Bank Observatory Sept 9th-11th (Note: Green Bank is ~2.5 hrs from Morgantown and there will be carpooling options).
Questions? Contact the WVU SPOT Club President, Sarah Long (sll00004@mix.wvu.edu) or the WV SPOT State Coordinator, Sophie de Saint Georges (spot.wv@gmail.com)
