Blue Clarity has launched a challenge series called #Expeditionhacks, challenging U.S. innovators to develop a bias detection tool that can detect, mitigate and monitor harmful bias in AI/ML models used in clinical decision-making and anticipate making these solutions available as open source early next year.
Blue Clarity is working with NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) on this challenge and we invite tech and healthcare industries, academia, non-profits, and government to join us in NIH’s endeavors to increase equity and inclusion in AI in healthcare.
As this effort requires interdisciplinary cooperation between AI/ML, healthcare and ethics experts, it is an excellent educational opportunity for your students and employees that have wide-reaching social benefits for society.
There is a student prize of $100K, and an additional $600K of prizes available. Registration has already begun and submissions are due March 1, 2023, so there is still plenty of time to get involved. This is also a great opportunity for you to put together a team to compete for these prizes and develop interdisciplinary expertise with immediate, practical application and value for society.
