CUR Posters on the Hill - Abstracts Due (Jan 22, 2021)!

Posters on the Hill 2021: Abstract Deadline - Jan 22, 2021! CUR is pleased to announce submissions are now open for Posters on the Hill (POH) 2021! POH 2021 will take place virtually (April 27-28, 2021) but will include the critical elements of a traditional POH signature event, including opportunities to virtually meet with members of Congress, resources on advocacy for undergraduate research, and a virtual poster showcase.

ORISE Virtual Career Fair

ORISE to host Virtual Career Fair for college students, recent graduates, postdocs, and faculty in STEM research, policy, and technical areas     

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET, the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is hosting a virtual career fair to highlight the variety of paid internships, fellowships and research opportunities available within our Research Participation Programs.

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Robotics Internship Program

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE) Robotics Internship Program is a 10-week summer internship program for students majoring in a field related to robotics. The program provides opportunities for high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students and postgraduates to intern at federal national laboratories throughout the United States.  The EERE Robotics Internship Program is sponsored by the EERE Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO).

Sustainable Chemistry REU at Texas A&M

The NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduate Program in Sustainable Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University is now accepting applications for the summer 2021.

In the Sustainable Chemistry REU at TAMU, students become full members of a graduate research group, carrying out fundamental research on interdisciplinary projects that span the chemical sciences. Students will participate in a sustainable chemistry workshop and professional development focused on science communication. Students will produce a video describing their research. Participants in the Chemistry REU will interact with students in other undergraduate research programs across campus and will receive personal mentoring from faculty, graduate students, and industrial chemists.

The tentative dates for the program are June 1 - August 6, 2021, though exact dates and program format are subject to change depending on pandemic conditions.

Students will receive a stipend of $5000; free housing; one credit of a research course; and a travel and meal allowance.
 
Competitive students will have completed at least two semesters of college chemistry, majoring in chemistry or related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or better and strong letters of recommendation. The program is most beneficial for students intending to pursue graduate school. For more information on the program, see https://www.chem.tamu.edu/reu/.
